That's so many movies bro! I only wish I could be willing to make the time to watch that many. I respect your hustle very much. If you don't mind my asking, would you mind giving some recommendations to a (relative) Spooktober newcomer? I've already taken note of some ones above, but what are some movies that you haven't watched this year that you feel would knock my socks off?
Here are some recommendations from ones I have watched in the past few years:
- Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010), genuinely one of the funniest comedy horror movies out there, really made great use of some classic tropes in the horror genre.
- Dead End (2003), a road trip from hell which plays out like a long journey into the twilight zone.
- Arachnophobia (1990), just a really solid horror/comedy movie with some great practical effects.
- Sleepaway Camp (1983), similar to the Friday the 13th series with its lakeside setting but the final twist is an all time classic.
- Urban Legend (1998), I love 90’s horror and this one gets passed over too much and is a great movie.
- Hell House LLC (2015), if you like found footage movies this is one of the better modern releases which I thought had some good tension/scares.
- Drag Me To Hell (2009), I reviewed this one last year and loved it. Sam Rami definitely has a larger than life comic book type style but I thought it worked really well here.
- The Uninvited (2009), slow burn thriller/horror film that has a great ending and lakeside setting.
- Idle Hands (1999), another solid comedy/horror film which reminded me of An American Werewolf in London.
- High Tension (2003), I’m a big fan of Alexandre Aja and think he is one of the best horror directors and this film is an excellent thrill ride with a great ending.
- The Descent (2005), I feel like Spooktober isn’t complete without one good monster/creature film and this one is awesome.
have you watched Fresh 2022? if you haven't, then definitely do, i loved that movie!
